me and niki (for which i guess we were the only HKers who went) went to nagano for the olympic torch transfer and that's a chaos there with those anti-chinese tibetans,fa-lun-gong,islamics and japanese right-wing having conflict with chinese students from universities in japan.
i expected the trip to be for olympics only but it turned out to be sth like a march or demonstration .... cuz ppl got excited when the pro-tibet guys popped out
there were violent between chinese and free tibet guys. tibetans were trying every way to piss the chinese students off such as grasping their chinese flags and threw them onto the road and saying offensive words,then they started fighting 
japanese right-wings also arrived with "arms"---stone, to throw at chinese students and 10 of them were arrested 
but i was very disappointed about what later i heard in tv news and internet news etc cuz none of the chinese casualities were reported,they just said "there were people who were injured", and in some way making fun of the chinese group by saying " chinese students group organized and sent by the chinese govt offically said they clean up the rubbish they brought to nagano" etc...
hey man i came to nagano voluntarily but not ordered by central govt .. for which i just wanna support olympics
media distortion were everywhere,who can we believe now? 
for those  who critize the others  merely after seeing what the media reports, i recommend you to read more history books and try to understand the facts by your own "eyes"
